The irony is that I've only actually been marketing online at all for two months. Sometimes I see people online who are frustrated with article marketing, and I think that it's because they don't understand the basic mechanics of search engine placements. My purpose here is to help you create results very fast using article marketing techniques and concepts that have been effective at promoting my own business.
First, you want to keep your articles relevant to the reader. What do I mean? You need to help people solve issues that they're having with your articles, or you won't get any traction from your marketing efforts. Sometimes you see an article that says it's about one thing, but the information isn't helpful at all. That's a BAD idea if you want to build a stable, long term business. You want to speak directly to the core issues of your readers as much as possible. Being useful and related with your concepts will help you rank in the search engines more than any other factor.
Second, you want your offer in the resource box to be specifically targeted towards your reader. Simply put, you want to have an author resource box that solves the exact problem that created your article in the first place. It's important that your resource box is viewed with continuity with your core article message. Get the drift? Make your offer as relevant as possible.
The third thing that you need to do is create a lot of incoming one way links to your article if you want it to rank in Google and stay on the front page. Simply put, you need a whole lot of other sites linking to your specific page. Just because an article is relevant and helpful doesn't mean people will see it. You should bookmark your articles on Digg at the minimum, and I prefer to use a popular social bookmarking service called 'OnlyWire'. That one concept will make your articles rank better and faster than if you don't do it.
The last idea I have for you is that you need to create A LOT of original content. Most people never take the time to create enough information to make their site noticeable online. How many articles should you create? As many as you have time to complete. I only write one article per day, but I make sure that EVERY day I create one new piece of relevant, useful information and I create as much useful information from it as I possibly can.
My final thought for you is to be optimistic! Making money online is easy if you get good at article marketing, and it is simply one of the coolest strategies you could possibly engage in long term. Keep your eyes peeled for more useful concepts! More are on the way soon!
